Akagi Gets a Sequel Manga ‘Yami Ma no Mamiya’

The June issue of Takeshobo’s Kindai Mahjong magazine distributed a “part 0” of another manga titled Yami Ma no Mamiya (Yami-Mahjong Fighter Mamiya) by Nobuyuki Fukumoto on Wednesday. The manga marks Fukumoto’s freshest work in the magazine, 15 months after he finished his Akagi manga in the magazine in February 2018. The new manga’s story is set 20 years after the completion of Akagi.

Regardless of the marking of the part, the magazine does not affirm if the new manga will have a full serialization. Notwithstanding, the magazine teases toward the finish of the section, “For what occurs straightaway, sit tight for more data!” The magazine records the part with a pleasantry for the new Reiwa time, which began on Wednesday. (“Section 0” in Japanese is “Dai-Rei-Wa.”)

The story rotates around the mahjong betting adventures of Shigeru Akagi.
